Rural and Urban Community Exposure Visit for GNM Nursing Students

As part of its community exposure programme, CCRC facilitated rural and urban field visits for GNM nursing students from reputed institutions, including E.S.I Hospital Sealdah and Maniktala, Islamia School of Nursing, Bharat Sevasram Sangha School of Nursing, Sister Nivedita Nursing Training Institute and Kakdwip & Diamond Harbour ANM nursing training school etc.. The programme enabled students to gain practical insights into the grassroots public healthcare system, with a focus on Nutrition, Reproductive and Child Health, and School Health.

Students visited Anganwadi Centres, Under-Five Clinics, Primary and Block Health Centres, Sub-Centres, Panchayat offices, TB control units, and old age homes. They also actively engaged with communities by conducting health talks and awareness activities such as street plays, puppet shows, and rallies. This hands-on experience strengthened their understanding of public health delivery and community engagement.

Training on Community Health & Nutrition

(Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics – On Job Training Programme)

CCRC conducts an annual specialized training programme on Community Health and Nutrition for Food and Nutrition students of Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College, Sister Nivedita University, St. Xavier’s College, Vidyasagar College, NSHM Knowledge Campus, and Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis College (PCM)  as part of the Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics (On Job Training) course. The training focuses on hands-on skill development, including anthropometric measurements, growth monitoring, BMI calculation, and dietary surveys using the recall method.

Students gain practical community exposure through visits to Anganwadi Centres and Under-Five Clinics, where they interact with community members and understand local health and nutrition practices. As part of community engagement, students also conduct health talks and awareness programmes, including street dramas, to promote key health and nutrition messages among rural populations.

Adolescent & Capacity Building Programs of Community Members of Ambuja Cement Foundation, Howrah

CCRC conducted Adolescent Peer Educator capacity-building training under the APEKSHA programme of Ambuja Cement Foundation, Howrah. The training enhanced peer educators’ knowledge of adolescent health—including physical and emotional development, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and mental well-being—while developing key life skills such as communication, decision-making, and problem-solving. This empowered them to support their peers and promote a healthier, informed adolescent community.

In addition, CCRC facilitated the Capacity-building training for SHGSakhi’ group field workers under the Ambuja Cement Foundation, Howrah. The training strengthened knowledge and skills on maternal and child health, covering antenatal and postnatal care, institutional delivery, immunization, nutrition, and early childhood development. It also focused on community engagement and effective communication, enabling field workers to promote positive health practices at the grassroots level.

Staff Training Programs of Seva Kendra Kolkata

CCRC facilitated training programs for frontline staff at Seva Kendra, focusing on Government services and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). These sessions strengthened staff knowledge and skills to effectively deliver services and support community health initiatives.

Technical Expertise & Capacity Building

The CINI Chetana Resource Centre (CCRC) provides technical support and capacity-building services to a wide range of international, national, state, and local NGOs. CCRC assists in developing training modules, manuals, and other training materials, and conducts training-of-trainers programs as well as staff trainings for organizations including:

  • UNICEF
  • Save the Children
  • World Vision India
  • TATA Metaliks
  • Mukti (Rural and Urban)
  • Diocese Durgapur

CCRC’s capacity-building programs cover key areas such as Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), Maternal Health, Newborn & Child Health, Family Planning, Nutrition, Communicable & Non-Communicable Diseases, Community Mobilization, and Life Skills.

In addition, CCRC provides hands-on support for field-level trainings and programs across different states of India, ensuring that knowledge and skills are effectively translated into on-ground action and impact.

Providing technical expertise to the international, national, state and local NGOs in capacity building

CCRC has been providing technical support for developing training module, manual, different training materials as well as conduction of training of trainers or trainings to the staffs of- Family Planning association of India, Population Foundation of India(for urban programme), SEWA Bharat, Welt Hunger Hilfe, Child Fund India,Unicef, Save the Children (SabujSangha), World Vision India, TATA Metalics, Ambuja Foundation etc.

The contents for the capacity building are Infant and Young Child Feeding, Maternal Health, New Born & Child Health, Family Planning, Nutrition, Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases, Community Mobilization, Life Skill, etc. In addition also provides handholding support to the field level trainings / programmes to the different states of India.
