Job placement course on Rural Community Health of students of Clinical Nutrition

CCRC organizes a specialized Community Health and Nutrition Training Programme every year for students pursuing Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from institutions such as Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College, Sister Nivedita University, St. Xavier’s College, Vidyasagar College, NSHM Knowledge Campus, and Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis College under their On Job Training component. The programme is designed to bridge academic learning with field practice by providing students with real-life exposure to community health and nutrition interventions. The training combines classroom orientation with extensive field-based learning, enabling students to develop practical skills in nutritional assessment and community health practices. Participants receive hands-on training on anthropometric measurements, growth monitoring techniques, BMI assessment, and dietary survey methods using recall techniques. Field visits to Anganwadi Centres and Under-Five Clinics offer opportunities to observe community-level nutrition services and interact directly with beneficiaries to understand local health and dietary practices. The programme further promotes community participation by engaging students in awareness activities such as health education sessions and street dramas, helping them strengthen communication skills while promoting health and nutrition awareness among rural communities.
